A small test world helps us ask a practical question: can an adventure stay connected when a player moves between locations, meets a merchant, and changes their inventory?

What we're trying to accomplish

The test route connects a starting location, a small dungeon, and a merchant camp. The goal is to check repeatable everyday actions before relying on them in a larger campaign.

Actual Foundry test session with AIDM travel messages and arrival narration beside the scene map
Actual development-session capture, October 27, 2026. AIDM reports travel back from the merchant camp and narrates the arrival. The map and description still need consistency checks. Open the image for a closer look.

What we observed

  • Travel and narration: the session records travel between the starting map and merchant camp, advances the game clock, and describes the arrival.
  • Buying: a recorded purchase of two healing potions updates the character's items and coins.
  • Selling: completed sales also update inventory and currency.

What still needs work

One trade in this session needed a retry instead of completing immediately. Scene artwork and the narrated location also need to agree reliably. Those are part of the experience we're testing, and a successful action here does not prove every case works.

These observations come from a development session, not a public release or a full end-to-end acceptance test.

What comes next

Repeat the route, check that the map and narration describe the same place, and verify that purchases, sales, and interrupted trades leave the character with the correct items and coins.

A question for you

When an AI DM moves your party to a new place, what should it explain first: where you are, what you notice, or what you can do next? Tell us what would help you feel ready to play.

Help shape the next step. Send us a suggestion, request email updates, or apply to test. These are separate choices.
